Mental Exercize or Dementia??
I looked at one aspect of Dementia. There's a site that goes into a dementia Dog, that helps the person remember his or her medication, walking sleeping and eating routine, and active and engaged in their community. Garbage Island
I was watching this video, and I couldn't believe we've gotten this careless. That all our garbage has ended up between our coast and Hawaii. I guess our dumping of trash has gotten out of hand. Wouldn't surprise me if my old glasses are sitting there. It's from VBStv.com. The reporter says it takes a week to get out there. Its in the Gyre.
Charles Moore discovered it in 1997 when returning to California from Hawaii after a yacht race. He decided on a shortcut through the gyre and got a shock of his life. He found all sorts of garbage including fragments from plastic bottles. Who knows what sea life that have been eating this have ended up on our dinner tables. This has gotten pretty serious when it might affect our food supply. Now to find a solution, but it's not going to be an easy one. Why not instead of dredging for fish, dredge for garbage, or at least get something that attracts the garbage. Not cool when things like this come back to bite us in the butt.
Direct Impacts - Studies have shown that fish and other marine life do eat plastic. Plastics could cause irritation or damage to the digestive system. If plastics are kept in the gut instead of passing through, the fish could feel full (of plastic not food) and this could lead to malnutrition or starvation.
Indirect Impacts - Plastic debris accumulates pollutants such as PCBs (polychlorinated biphenyls) up to 100,000 to 1,000,000 times the levels found in seawater. PCBs, which were mainly used as coolant fluids, were banned in the U.S. in 1979 and internationally in 2001. It is still unclear whether these pollutants can seep from plastic debris into the organisms that happen to eat the debris and very difficult to determine the exact source of these pollutants as they can come from sources other than plastic debris. More research is needed to help better understand these areas.

This resource will benefit the nation’s coastal managers, researchers, policy makers, educators, industry, and communities studying to mitigate marine debris and its impacts.
In its first phase, the Clearinghouse is an extensive database housing current, future, and historical MDP-funded marine debris projects related to removal, research and outreach. The site’s sophisticated search function allows users to query specific project data, such as date and description, location, or marine debris type. Its mapping and reporting functions also allows users to quickly obtain information in multiple formats.

In the coming months, the site will grow to include a library of documents, including best practices, regional action plans, technical documents, and papers that reflect the state of knowledge of a given topic area within marine debris study. In the future, the program plans to expand this database to include information from federal partners and the broader marine debris community.

Lifes Greatest Miracle Documentary (narrated by John Lithgow)
So far so good it's a good documentary about how were engaging in procreation rituals without even knowing it. How we attract a mate, make love, and create babies. Even if some sperm makes it in, it goes through a selection process (sort of like being on a dating service picking the right man or woman into your life). some sperm make it in some get killed off by uterine acid and even if it makes it to the uterus the uterus is blocked by mucus that wont let anything in except during ovulation when mucus is watery, and even in the uterus and fallopian tube the egg may not be there or is surrounded by cell chaperones. Only the sperm with the right combination will get into the Zona barrier around the egg. (whew). Then the sperm gets drawn into the egg. Once together they form a viable embryo. 50% don't survive this process. The rest of the sperm is locked out of the Zona. then it pushes all the chromosomes into a pouch called a polar body. single sperm releases "precious cargo" 23 chromosomes in the roomy egg. Egg and sperm approach each other, then divide. And this after 24 hours! Sometimes the cells split into two groups creating identical twins. The cells need enough dividing before it arrives in the Uterus.
Five days have passed. Embryo must break out of the Zona and seek a food source.
It does and uses and enzyme to eat through the zona and the ball of cells squeeze out. The embryone finally latched onto the blood rich lining of the uterus But the blastocist can still be attacked by the mothers immune system as a foreign invader. and cells produce chemicals that fight this off. The blastocyst finally burros into the lining of the Uterus. It develops ar a rapid rate. First the spinal cord and then the brain and then the head and arm buds, and the heart beats for the first time. And the child takes nine months to develop. This documentary revolves around a couple expecting a baby. and then explains the process explained above. I never realized that it would be that hit and miss. I guess they've come up with new developments since the last medical journal I read. It strengthened my resolve for Pro Life after explainign the Miracle that it truly is!

Reflection on "Bully" the movie

It's about bullying that takes place in three Places: Murray county, Georgia , Tuttle, Oklahoma. and Sioux City Iowa around the Three people. Tyler, Alex and Kelbi. You can watch it on Netflix.
Tyler, from Murray County Georgia. Was a happy kid, had an infectious laugh, but had a habit of being a loner. which made him a target for bullies. One point he cried and then that stopped. One day when he was 17 he left a video for his sister Teryn that what anyone says doesn't matter, and he hung himself. Thats how David and Troy found him. He couldn't take any more. Alex, age 12 of Sioux City Iowa, lives with Ruthie his sister and Ethan his youngest brother. Father David and Mother Tyler has to deal with bullying at the stop where he gets picked up, on the bus, and in the school itself. In Tuttle Oklahoma.
Theres a lesbian girl named Kelbi aged 16. She's not welcome in church or other peoples homes. Anyone hanging out with her is assumed to be like her. Kelbi was purposely run into with a minivan when she just wanted a ride. They even talked about burning her with her present, and when they saw they were hurting her kept on doing it. She learned early on that anyone who was different in bible belt Oklahoma would be put down. Makes me ashamed to be a christain
b. At first I was shocked and then got very angry with the treatment of the kids in this movie, that it can happen in a place called learning. When I was going to school it wasn't this bad. There was teasing and some bullying. But never at the level and viciousness, and the poisonous words coming from the kids who were doing the bullying. I was wondering "where are the adults? Have we gotten so politically correct that we cant' make a stand without it hurting our reputation. I've heard say that the only thing for evil to triumph is for good to stand by and do nothing. It's time to make a stand.
c.I'd say if affects them socially psychologically and intellectually. They're isolated. It's psychologically draining, and it affects the learning process. Who wants to learn in a hostile environment?from IAN research Report Bullying/Ian Research Reports/Interactive
d. Parents should take an active response to what is going on with the schools. Bus drivers should no longer be bystanders. Problem children (those that bully or abuse others because they're bored, and don't' have a healthy way of dealing with their problems). And there should be no children who are loners all the time. They need other kids who look out for them.

Exercize Program
The source I got this from is Men's Fitness It's called EDT (or Escalating Density Training). It basically tells you to race the clock, which forces you to work harder faster and more efficiently. Pick a duration, and get the best workout possible before time runs out.
First set a time limit. 20 minutes in this case. Pick two body parts you want to train that don't compete with each other. Like chest and shoulders. They'd involve the same muscles and wear you out too fast. Choose an exercize for each muscle group and a weight that allows a set of 10-12 repetitions for each part alternating sets of the two moves resting as little as possible. Go a few reps short of failure on every set to preserve strength. keep track of how much time between sets and the number of repetitions. Next time you work out try to improve the performance without extending the time frame.

Checking your pulse on the wrist
You can easily
check your pulse on the inside of your wrist, below your thumb.
- Gently place 2 fingers of your other hand on this artery.
- Do not use your thumb, because it has its own pulse that you may feel.
- Count the beats for 30 seconds, and then double the result to get the number of beats per minute.

Dumbbell Bench press
With a dumbbell in each hand. Lie back and hold them back at shoulder level and press them straight over your Chest
Seated Cable Row
Attach straight bar to cable pulley and grasp at shoulder width. Place feet against foot plates of machine and pull bar back to place tension on cable. Start with torso leaning slightly forward so you feel a stretch on the lats and then row the bar to yoru sternum squeezing your shoulder blades together.
other options show the following pairings that are effective EDT workouts
- Barbell curl+Close-grip Pushup
- Dumbbell Overhead Press+ Lat Pull down
- Barbell Romanian Dead lift+Leg Extension
- Front Squat+Pushup
- Leg Press+Pullup
- remember to warm up, and stretch before the workout, and to cool down after it's over
- remember to keep the spine straight.
- Be sure to do a 20 minute workout on odd or even days
- Be sure to bring a watch and a nice clean towel. Who wants to work out on equipment covered in sweat. Yuck!!
